What is fee free training for Year 12 graduates?

The Queensland Government covers the fees in these programs. Students can only access this subsidy once so they should be aware that they will no longer be eligible for a government-subsidised training place under a program once they complete the qualification level targeted through the program.

Who is this for?

Queensland residents, who have graduated within the last twelve months or who are about to graduate may apply.

This is a fantastic initiative and with so many careers available in the hospitality and tourism industry this initiative will take the financial burden off students who wish to study hospitality.

For those students looking at starting university mid-year it’s a great opportunity to gain employability skills in preparation for part-time work while studying at university. Students who enrol at Edwards Institute of Further Education will be awarded the Certificate III in Hospitality (SIT30616), which will include Responsible Service of Alcohol, Provide First Aid, Construction White Card, and so much more.

We also teach valuable study skills, time management, research skills and presentation skills to prepare them not only for careers, but for further study.
