From welcoming clients to events and providing food and beverage service, working front of house in the creative industries is the place to be.
There are so many opportunities for people with excellent presentation and communication skills.

Technical Positions

Lights, camera, action - technical positions provide the lighting, sound and even special effects that make a performance or an event a moment to remember.

Event Coordination

If you think you would love to coordinate and event and be involved in all facets of this industry from sporting, cultural and business events to weddings, birthdays and anniversaries, this is the job for you.

Leaders and managers

Like any organisation the creative industries needs leaders and managers from design to marketing to financial managers, this industry has it all.

Creativity, planning, & communication

You can start working towards your dream job while you’re still at school with a CUA20215 Certificate II in Creative Industries or even undertake a school based traineeship with a CUA30415 Certificate III in Live Production and Service.

Currently employed and have been for a while? Formalise your skills and knowledge this year.

For people who have been working in live performance and who would like to formalise their practical skills and knowledge with a nationally recognised qualfication call us now to discuss our Recognition of Prior Learning process. You may even be eligible for the Queensland Goverment’s Certificate 3 subsidy, which will reduce your fees.

Currently taking applications for November 2018 and February 2019 commencement.

This qualification is offered via a blended mode including online delivery and week-long block workshops, which are held in Brisbane for individuals. However, for organisations with groups of five or more the workshops can be scheduled on-site. The program comprises fifteen units, including the following core units:

  • BSBWOR301 Organise personal work priorities and development
  • CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry
  • CUAIND301 Work effectively in the creative arts industry
  • CUAWHS302 Apply work health and safety practices
  • CUAPPR304 Participate in collaborative creative projects
  • SITXCCS303 Provide service to customers

Students should contact us to discuss the available electives. It is important to note that due to the practical nature of this course you must be employed within the industry on a part-time, casual or full-time basis.

 

Queensland residents may be eligible to undertake this qualification as a traineship under the Queensland Government’s User Choice funding. Alternatively, students may be able to access the Queensland Government Certificate 3 subsidy.

School students, undertaking this program as a school based traineeship, must complete 50 days of practical work per annum. They will also need to allocate time to complete the online portion and attend scheduled workshops.

 

Graduates of this program have used this program as a pathway to university and successfully transitioned from this program to undertake degrees including the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Creative Industries.

Students who enjoy organising events, planning and working with people can elect to undertake the Certificate III in Events. This program can be commenced at any time, as we have rolling enrolments.

 

The delivery of the program is primarily on-line; however, students may elect to join us in one of our Cairns or Brisbane workshops.

 

Due to the practical nature of the program students will need to be employed or volunteer in a role where they can apply their skills and knowledge.
