Suitable for:

The Certificate III in Tourism (SIT30116) is an excellent stepping stone to careers in a number of areas including guiding, events, business and more. Many graduates have used this qualification to fine tune their skills and as preparation for university bachelor degrees. Degree studies are not limited to tourism and hospitality and in some instances students have moved on to degrees in arts, management, law, social science and marine studies.

High school transition program – commences Monday 26th November 2018

Students attend three weeks of workshops after they have completed high school. Graduates of the SIT20116 Certificate II in Tourism receive significant credit towards this program. This enables them to complete the program by the end of the year. Students who have not completed a Certificate II in Tourism will have on-line coursework to complete after the three weeks of workshops.

Full time program – commences Monday 26th November 2018

Upon completing high school at the end of the year students can join us for three weeks of workshops prior to the end of the year. In 2019 students return to classes in February to continue their studies.

Full time program – commences Monday 11th February 2019

The full-time SIT30116 Certificate III in Tourism commences with a one week workshop block. After this workshops are scheduled Monday and Tuesday during school term, with online lessons to enable students to have the flexibility to study while they work.

💻 On-line programs – rolling enrolments

The on-line SIT30116 Certificate III in Tourism allows people who live outside the region, or those who work in remote locations or on shift work, the opportunity to study at a time and place to suit their needs. Students can start at any time of the year; however, they will need to be able to access the Internet and work or volunteer in a related field in order to complete the practical components of the program.

This program can be undertaken as a traineeship, where the student is employed in a related role. If the trainee is eligible, the program may be subsidised under the Queeensland Government’s User Choice funding.

In this instance, the organisation will incur an Employer Fee Contribution, which will take into account any applicable credit from previous study.

Residents of Queensland, who are not enrolled at school and do not hold a Certificate III level or higher qualification may be eligible for subsidised fees, under the Queensland Government’s Certificate 3 Guarantee funding.

In this instance the student will be invoiced for a student contribution, which is calculated based on any credit from previous study.

The fees for this qualification are $3,200 per person.
Fees are reduced based on previously completed units that part of this qualification
Payment plans can be arranged.
