APA 6TH REFERENCING

Following are examples of common in-text citations and examples of how they would be presented in a list of references. Please note, most of the examples are fictional.

Present in list of references:

Author, Initial., Author, Initial. (Year). Title of article. Name of journal, vol,(issue), pages from and to. Example: Smith, R., & Jones, P. (2017). Evolution of modern day business practices. The Journal of Business Leadership, 33(2), 45-54.

Present as in-text citation the first time used:

Present as in-text citation subsequent citations:

Movie entries begin with the producer or director’s name and a note is made in parentheses as to whether the name presented is a produce or director.

Last Name, Initial. (Producers), &  Last name, initial (Director). (Release year). Name of movie [motion picture]. [With actors]. Country: Distributer.

Example:

Note: if there is an actual author it should be presented as per the following example:

Jefferson, S. (2005, June 15). Training modern day instructors – a new approach. Retrieved from the National Karate Association of Australia website: http:www.nkaa.com.au

IMPORTANT:

When direct quoting you must place quotation marks around the quoted words and include page numbers , as well as the author and year.

For example:

Smith (2004, p. 5) explains that “every word quoted must be within quotation marks”.

It is also important to note that the second line on in each reference of the list of references should be indented.
